Ruby Ewen’s experience as a painter will give the person interested in basic technique and colour work an unforgettable two-day introduction to painting. The course will cover painting supports, types of brushes and their care, the laying out of a palette, and colour mixing. This is the basic course for students interested in oil or acrylic.
L’expérience de Ruby Ewen comme peintre permettra à la personne intéressée par la technique de base et l’agencement des couleurs de se procurer 2 journées mémorables à l’introduction à la peinture. Le cours couvrira les supports, les types de pinceaux et leur entretien, l’étalement des couleurs sur la palette et le mélange des couleurs. Ceci est un cours de base pour les étudiants intéressés par l’huile ou l’acrylique.

Doug’s workshops introduce you to a pragmatic approach toward spontaneity &‘expressive freedom’. This 4-day workshop will include two demonstrations each day, End-of-day critiques with plenty of painting time each day. NOTE: not for the novice painter, experience necessary

Stimulated by the beauty and history of Portage du Fort, we will work outside, selecting a location, sketching, and creating a finished painting. Emphasis will be on expressing your individual response to the scenery using a variety of media - bring your own, or use our acrylics [$25] and canvas

Participants will make sample books involving accordion folding, the pamphlet stitch, and Japanese stab binding. Students will complete at least two books to take home.

students to make their own multiple cards for the Christmas season. In making their own cards students will be introduced to the basics of relief printing.

créer des cartes variées pour la saison des fêtes. Les étudiants découvriront, en cours de route, les bases de l’estampe art relief.

Create art you can walk on! Strong and vibrant, or, soft and subtle, these painted floorcloths are an exciting and expressive an art form that is fun, decorative and functional. You will learn how to create a floor cloth from start to finish. Through guidance you will produce one or more of your own design. While you create you will also learn the history of this ancient art.
Créez de l’art sur lequel vous marchez! Vifs et vibrants, doux et subtils, ces tapis peints sur un canevas sont une forme d'art expressive qui est à la fois amusante, décorative et fonctionnelle. Avec les conseils de l’instructeur vous allez produire au moins un tapis de votre propre conception. Lors de votre travail, on vous enseignera l’histoire de cet art ancien.
