Ewen’s experience as a painter will give the person interested in basic technique and colour work an unforgettable introduction to painting. The course covers painting supports; types of brushes and their care; the laying out of the palette and colour mixing. This is the basic course for students interested in oil or acrylic.

Needle Felted Bugs and Butterflies – Learn to needle felt by making a whimsical animal of your choosing out of colorful wool roving.
Needle felting uses a small, barbed needle which you hold like a pencil to intertwine fibers of wool so as to easily make dimensional wool sculptures. In traditional wet felting, it is very difficult and labour intensive to make three-dimensional work, but the felting needle makes it both fun and easy. Learning a few basic shapes and techniques in class will enable you to make whatever your heart desires. Wool is a wonderful material to work with: it is both durable and natural. The craft requires very few special tools, which makes it wonderfully easy to learn. No knitting or sewing involved, it takes minutes to learn and hours to perfect. Come prepared to learn about color and design. This is a craft which is easy, affordable and lots of fun.
